Mother’s
26 02 2010MOTHER’S ARE THE SWEETEST.
Our mother is the sweetest and
Most delicate of all.
She knows more of paradise
Than angels can recall.
She’s not only beautiful
But passionately young,
Playful as a kid, yet wise
As one who has lived long.
Her love is like the rush of life,
A bubbling, laughing spring
That runs through all like liquid light
And makes the mountains sing.
And makes the meadows turn to flower
And trees to choicest fruit.
She is at once the field and bower
In which our hearts take root.
She is at once the sea and shore,
Our freedom and our past.
With her we launch our daring ships
Yet keep the things that last.

Prai Penang Port
24 02 2010PRAI BULK CARGO TERMINAL
Penang Port ‘s conventional cargo facilities are spearheaded by the Prai Bulk Cargo Terminal (PBCT) that handles a multitude of dry bulk cargo such as grains, soybeans and raw sugar as well as non-edible liquid bulk cargo.
In addition, PBCT is thoroughly equipped to handle dangerous cargo that includes liquid-based products such as Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM). This type of bulk cargo handling must adhere to international standard safety measures and provide services such as security and fire protection.
Conventional cargo handling efficiency has been improved with the application of a computerised cargo and marine system (PELPIN) catering for berth planning, equipment scheduling, go down management, and billing functions. These drives have been instrumental in the ISO9001:2000 certification awarded to Penang Port ‘s conventional cargo operations.

Penang Floating Mosque..
24 02 2010Masjid Terapung or Floating Mosque of Tanjung Bungah is a big Malay mosque built at the bay in Tanjung Bungah. Despite its name, the mosque is not floating, but rather standing on pilings and stilts. Nevertheless it is the first mosque to be built in the sea in Malaysia (other floating mosques in Malaysia have so far been built on lakes).
The Tanjung Bungah Floating Mosque was built at the cost of 15 million and covers an area of 1295 sq meters. It also has a towering minarets, the height of a seven-storey building, where the call of azan can be announced. To ensure no undue congestion along the narrow Tanjung Bungah main road, a big parking space was also built for the mosque. It can accommodate up to 250 cars. The mosque itself has a capacity of 1500 worshippers.

Framing Penang Bridge….
13 02 2010The Penang Bridge (Jambatan Pulau Pinang in Malay) is a dual-carriageway toll bridge that connects Gelugor on the island of Penang and Seberang Prai on the mainland of Malaysia on the Malay Peninsula. The bridge is also linked to the North-South Expressway in Prai and Jelutong Expressway in Penang. It was officially opened to traffic on September 14, 1985. The total length of the bridge is 13.5 km (8.4 miles), making it among the longest bridges in the world, the longest bridge in the country as well as a national landmark. Penang Bridge Sdn Bhd (PBSB) is the concession holder which manages it. The bridge was designed by a local Penang resident, Tan Sri Datuk Professor Ir. Chin Fung Kee, a well known authority in geotechnical engineering and former acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Malaya.
Before 1985, transportation between the island and the mainland was solely dependent on the state-owned Penang Ferry Service that runs between Butterworth and George Town.

Similar to the ferry services in Penang, toll is only paid when heading to the island. There is no charge for leaving the island.

Currently, the Penang Bridge is being expanded from 4 lanes to 6 lanes to accommodate the increasing traffic on the bridge. A proposal for a second bridge, the Penang Second Bridge, has been approved by the Malaysian federal government and included as one of the Ninth Malaysia Plan national projects. Construction work of the new Penang Second Bridge began in November 2008, and the target completion date is May 2012.
Recently, the Penang Bridge was assigned its own route number of .

Framing Penang….
13 02 2010
Penang is great place to build-up your career, but not the great places to lay down. It’s have many places for photographic opportunity, eating and even clubbing. But beware about lies within! This is one of my first photograph taken from “Penang Hill-Bukit Bendera” with point n shot camera years ago. And also this shot drag me to get my very own DSLR camera because i’m not very happy with the quality of the shot. Nevertheless i have my photographic oppotunity. So what is your first scene that you taken that drag you to the real cameras..DSLR?
12000 Photos taken with Nikon S4 point n shot camera are gone forever due to hard-disk crash! My advise is to “Back-Up” your work in different storage media! Learns from “The disaster”…..
